Default I think you fumbled the ball this time

G'day Bob, Shannon and the team at Foxchapel.
My mag arrived today, and as always I was excited to get it.

I don't think this issue was up to usual standards, now I know it's different horses for different courses, and others will have a completely different take on this.

The only thing that I'm likely to cut out of this issue is the turtle, not sure If I'd eat the gumballs seeing where they exit from.

Carters story is great and congratulations Carter.

The coin flipper well...........

Looking forward to the next one though.

And I thought the coin flipper was neat. I am probably going to make one of those even if only for a conversation piece.

In support of John .How does that old saying go ?

You can satisfy some of the people some of the time but not all the people all of the time .

It is sort of like doing coccaine .( I guess ). You get a great hit the first time around and then have a hard time finding the same high next time .

Next time John .

In all fairness, there were a couple I liked .

Cheers . Roger

LOL - well I'm going to take that as a compliment - SSW is as addictive as cocaine!

Seriously though - I do appreciate all feedback - and it's true - you can't please all the people all of the time....

What's missing John - what kind of projects would you like to have seen?

G'day Bob and Shannon and the crew,
My comment was probably a little terse, I was in a shitty mood and shouldn't say anything when I'm in that place
But I will clarify as I believe an "I don't like it" is worth nothing without an explanation.

I spose being a member of forum does spoil you as you get see and hear most techniques in general conversation prior to the magazine being published. Not a bad thing.
For readers that don't belong to the forum the mag would probably have quite a bit of useful info and interesting projects.

I just found nothing new.

It's a very hard thing to say what I'd like to see, as I don't know what there is out there to see.
I love techniques, how people do things etx. These get my creative juices flowing.

The magazine this time just seem to be short on stories and so padded out what it had.

I suppose the coin flipper would come in handy if you never had thumbs But I read that article as an advertisement for a book.
The spinners are neat but two full pages and one really a nice photograph only.

Anyhow, that's my take on this issue, and as I've said previously I don't expect to be pleased all the time, and this is the 1st one I've felt a bit let down by, so you are doing a pretty good job.

Oh and I think there was to much intarsia

My thoughts exactly! Still, it was in the first half of the mag and let's face it ... the grown up stuff never starts until after half way .

Say it louder, John, say it louder.

Actually, I thought this issue was above par for the course. There again, my judgment was really coloured by the compound cut ornaments hidden out of the way at the back with other technical stuff .

Thumbs up Issue !!

I was asked to log in & it blew me away. I haven't logged in for ages. Anyway, John, guess what was right on the front cover ? Not Santa, but, it was Intarsia. First billing or a favorite? I don't have a problem with Intarsia, I just don't like sanding. It covers everything. The ornaments were nice & some of the 3 D's too. I don't even come close to doing a lot of the items in each issue, so can't complain. I am a picker & chooser, for hobby only. Give most of my pieces away & very seldom sell them. Let's have an issue with some Wildlife, Deer, Bear, Antelope, Cougar, or Elk. The Elk a few issues back was nice, aaaa, Intarsia !!! Keep up the good work staff.

I was kidding about the intarsia, just seeing if I'd get a rise out of the artists LOL

Creative people need creative ideas to stimulate them . I look at the two different mags. to find something different and stimulating .

I as John and many others , like to see different techniques .

I'm not sure if I could choose what to put in an issue . Must be an agonizing decision .

Now there is a brilliant suggestion . How about a contest or draw to invite a member of the readership to sit in or participate on selecting a pattern out of the many which are submitted ?I can see a host of problems there . How about a Chimp selecting one ?

What about a few more issues per year to try and satisfy our hungry thirst for that great inspiring pattern .

Just a bunch of ramblings waiting for my toast to burn .

Cheers .
