Default Problem viewing thumbnails

When someone post a thumbnail I am unable to view it. I click on the thumbnail and my screen develops like a charcoal black veil over the entire screen. It stays like that untill I hit the back button. The veil is slightly transparent. What can I do to fix the problem?

EDIT: I checked out my laptop running vista and it works, I get the black veil and then the picture pops up in the center. On my desktop (running XP with all updates), I do not get the picture. Help

Warren,
Make sure your Adobe Flash is up to date. The software is trying to open a Flash player that will allow you to scroll through the photos instead of having to click on each one, open it, and close it.

To get around it, double click on the thumbnail and it will open in a different window like it used to.

Bob,
Installed lastest adobe flash player, rebooted, same problem. Double click does not open a new window. Checked some of the interent options, all add on's are enabled, pop up blocker is off. Any other idea?

Warren - just for curiosity try a different browser

I'm running Windows XP SP3 with all updates and use Firefox browser and I have problems when often it seems to take for ever for the flash preloader to display an image. The work around is to close the flash screen and immediately click the thumbnail again and almost always the image instantly appears. The flash loader also takes a hell of a long time to move from one image to the next so I do the same trick clicking on the next thumbnail and it works. I've tried all ways to get around this problem with no luck so now I just live with the problem.

Hope you get lucky!

Jim, I going to stick with IE, it should work. Seems other folks have the same problem. If I want to see something bad enough I will look at it with my laptop running vista.
