As someone who bought this magazine at the local grocery, when it stoped being offered I thought you went belly up. I happened on this site while searching for something. But going back in the magazine this site is not really promoted all that much. As the Holiday Special has shown, word of mouth on this site has really helped sales. I think you need to get every person that picks up your magazine to come to this site. This is the only magazine that I have subscribed too. The magazine opens up a whole new world of what we can do with a scrollsaw. But this site helps us be comfortble in trying to make what we see in the magazine. You guys are the pro's when it come to putting out the best magazine for us scrollers, and this site is a major reason to keep buying the magazine and see other ways of using the saw. Alan. |

Thanks Alan, for starting this thread. And thank everyone else for your kind words! They really mean a lot (especially when I'm pulling out my hear stressed out on deadline)! As for promoting the site more, I'm working on that. We have an ad in every issue, and I bring up the message board as often as possible. Do you have anything else specific in mind? Thanks again! Bob

Bob, There are a bunch of us dedicated lovers of the magazine and board. Quite a few do shows, fairs and such. Some 3x5 cards advertising the magazine and board for those people to hand out would promote both. In the magazine, to promote the board, you guys could do a half pager or whole pager on one of the works in progress. Show everyone who gets the magazine how we got our help and our questions answered and show off what "real people" do to make the stuff that comes out in the magazine. Well, there's my 2 cents. Tom |

Maybe just a couple of paragraphs each issue on tips from the board to go along with the WIP suggestion or maybe get JohnB to start a feature on his tips. He leaves us all wondering how he comes up with some of the goodies he shares. You could even run the tips as screen shots as a tease with the full story provided.

Some downloadable logo buttons for people with blogs and etc. in an easy "anyone can do it" format... I use blogger and it lets you embed other peoples code which is easy when it is step by step for you. Maybe even a Scrollsaw webring. i found this site through searching peoples scrollsaw blogs and links, other people will too and then like me they will end up buying whole sets of backissues!
