I photocopy what I need and save the oridginal. Gives me alot of opportunites to make more mistakes.

Oh charlie, dont feel alone, I used to do that, and I was wondering, did you use a pinsal, or a ball point pin. no kidding hear. I just didn't like how the marks was hard to get off. and some would disapear before my eyes. that is alot of work. and with my wavy hand. it wasn't acurate. I think we all need to gettogether. and get charlie a scanner. and printer. he is worth it.

I usually scan it into the computer so I can print as many as I need. This is great when I'm doing ornaments and want to print several from different parts of the pattern pullout onto one piece of paper. It also gives me the option to change the color of the lines if I want to on some of the fine line patterns.

I also photo copy the pattern and put the original into a folder. I number and name each copy and I generate a list with different catagories so if I want a particular pattern I can easily find it, The patterns that I use over and over I make templates out of poster board and this way I can quickly outline the shape onto the wood......Mike

Ditto, I scan and print. Never cut an original.

I remember getting so bloody wild, when patterns for various things would come printed in magazines with stories or other info or another pattern on the back.

The directions would say adhere pattern to cardboard or wood and cut, yeappers, what about part 2 on the back. This was in the day's before copiers.

I also scan and print magazine patterns before using them, no matter which magazine they appear in.

It's hardly surprising so many of us are saying that's how we handle our patterns, though. After all, you've got to be reasonably computer literate to post here. I suspect our answers are not representative of the general distribution.

"you've got to be reasonably computer literate to post here" Sorry Gill but me being here just proves how wrong you are.
I use the computer with one program "Paperport 11" and internet explorer. and that is it. Paperport I have used for 10 years and still can only do basic stuff with it.
Wonder if thats why I am unimployed? LOL.
