at home, to many to mention. but at the saw, I used to do only one piece at a time, I just couldn't wait till it was finished and done. just to have it. but now, I am cutting some really hard things. in 150 year old quorter sawn white oak. stacking to 1/2 to 3/4 inch. sooooo I have to get away from it. for somedays it just drives me crazy.one day the blade just travales so great. and the next, I can't keep it on the line. so I do have more projects going now. some times I have to go to my plywood projects, to build my confadence back. I have been busy with my new shop this last year. and so I have maybe 4 projects that need finished, and can't count the others, for they are small.like xmas ornaments, and letter openers. and now I will try to finish the 4, pluss start some ornaments for the project Rudolph thingy. then there is grand kids. today we was sewing on the sewing machine for the first time. had 3 machines going at onec. how fun. ok, your friend Evie

My wife's a quilter and always has dozens of projects going at a time so she can work on whichever on calls to her at a given moment. She calls them "UFOs": UnFinished Objects.

I tend to have fewer projects going at once, but most of my projects are shorter. Glass generally has to be finished in one session, and my wood turning stays on the lathe until its done so I can't start more than one at a time. Scrolling is much easier to put down and pick up again. So far my practice projects are small enough that I can do several in one sitting, but my eye's looking towards more complex stuff so I don't expect that to stay that way!

That doesn't count projects in the planning / sketching stage or in the finishing / is-it-really-abandoned stage. I have several shelves full of bowls and vases that need to be coldworked. Eww!

One gazillion billion, I am sooooooooo far behind. Some of them may never get finished. Every time I see something new I have to try it. Trouble is some of it winds up in the scrap pile.

If we are talking strictly scrolling I only have a few in mid stream. While the finish is drying on one I will be cutting another.
If we are talking all projects in the house etc. then we have a real problem, because I can't walk anywhere without being distracted by something that I either started or wanted to start.

Nine at the present........8 in their little boxes, and one at the saw. Those in little boxes are waiting for me to gather all the wood for project, or parts of them are being glued etc. I like to keep each project separated so I won't loose any pieces.

Hammer, I had to smile at your post. I am hurryed now adays to get what projects I wont to do done. Don't know why. I guess becouse I buy all the beautifull patterns I find, copey them , buy the wood, and fixens. and prey I will live long enouph to do them . Don't Know Why. just have to do them. believe me, i can leave the dishes on the sink, but my woodwork has to get done, Don't Know Why. I also have bought so many books, and magazines, with projects marked to do list. and , not only woodwork but other projects I love to do. quilting, bead work, glass work, gords. that a biggy, for it fits right up there with scrolling. whuuuuuu. how old am I , not young enoupf I think. Sooo. If I get them all done, gosh , what then, thank gosh. I have something to keep me young, and motivated. TV,mmmmm that is something to sleep buy. your friend Evie

Right now I have about 10 vases on the go , thanks to Steve Good . I have finished one . My problem is as others before me there is that new pattern that looks more interesting . I do find other projects to be finished when I move wood and patterns out of the way in order to have a place to put the latest endevour . Perhaps , I just have a short tension span . Cheers .
