I read the instruction book when I got it, keep it reasonably clean, but don't do anything to it regularly. I have only had it about 10 years!!!!

On my dewalt I have had to tighten the blade tensioner bolt and keep sanding the upper blade holder . Other than blowing the dust off once in a while thats all there seems to do . I think the brushes will have to be looked at in the future as it was manufactured in 2001 .Cheers .Roger

I put Monthly, as I don't consider cleaning the saw as maintenance. (that is done all the time) There isn't much that can be done on the G4, I check it over when something doesn't feel right. I check for loose parts, the little tension cam up front gets a bit sloppy and needs an occasional tweak. I fixed all my clamp issues, so they are not a problem anymore. I think it is time for me to re-read my manual to be on the safe side.

My two Hegners are 12 and 14 years old respectively. Apart from cleaning, the only thing I do is to oil the upper and lower bearings of the oscillating arms now and then. I have not had a single problem with either of them.

I have had my DeWalt for like 9 years with no real maintenance issues. I blow it out with canned air from time to time, and once I had to reset the angle gauge for the table, (I do so much inlay that I think I slowly pushed it out of alignment because the saw table is so often tilted to the left). Aside from that, the closest thing to PM that I do is to be sure not to leave the blade tensioned when I'm not using it. That was in my owners manual.
