| Design contest winners Wow! With as many folks that didn't understand what the "ball type object" was when the 28 finalist were being voted for in the Peoples Choice award, after finally seeing what time and energy Tom put into his project it was very interesting. He deserved it in my mind, although I wouldn't have wanted to have to judge the contest for all the great stuff entered.
To do a little critique of the contest (nothing big). I think it may have been confusing to some of us as to how to get to the results page when we have the forum page as our immediate 'go to' page on the site. You actually have to go to the 'home' page to get any info because clicking on the design contest link on the forum page only took you to the 'dead' contest site.
AND... a little more info with each entry... like a one line explanation of the project included with each picture would really bee a big help in the future.
FINALLY... CONGRATS to ALL the finalist and WINNERS! Now get ready for next year... looks like we have to crank it up a notch to beat some of these folks!

| I liked this best, too: because of the size, the execution and finish, but most of all the because of the sheer ingenuity. It is one thing thinking of an off-the-wall idea, but something else entirely managing to complete it. I know, I have lots of designer firewood.

| I loved the project at first sight, and highly admire Tom Stewart as a master scroller. It's unique and original from the start. IMHO, there's never been a more deserving scrollsaw design contest winner.
Take care

| Sorry about the dead link - it should work correctly now - click on the logo in the right hand column...
Suggestions for improving the contest are always welcome. A short explanation with the finalists is another good idea - categories - a suggestion from someone else is definitely one I want to incorporate for the next contest.
Keep in mind this is a bi-annual contest. We figured you guys need a little time to dream up new and creative projects - the next deadline will be December 31, 2009. Plenty of time to make sawdust and designer firewood! |
