Default Board to be down for a few days

Hey everyone,
We've outgrown the server that currently houses the message board, so we've got to migrate the board database to a new server. This means that we're going to have to shut the board down for a few days starting Wednesday (we've got to transfer close to a Terabyte from one server to the other).

I've had the opportunity to test out the board on the new server, and it's amazingly fast. Things that I never realized were slow went amazingly fast...uploading photos, searches, etc.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Best regards,
Bob Duncan

Well...it's not quite the same, but feel free to check out the Woodcarving Illustrated message board at Woodcarving Illustrated Message Board

There is some great information on finishing, and working with wood over there...Intarsians and segmentation fans can learn a lot about removing wood quickly with chisels, gouges and knifes, and the texturing with carving tools is a great addition to intarsia and segmentation.

Fretwork and portrait fans won't get quite as much...but it's still woodworking <GRIN>

Being someone who has worked in I/T for the last 27 years I know how time consuming an up grade can be.. Good luck hope it goes smoothly. Do what needs to be so the forum isn't down any longer than needed.

I know it's not going to be fun...but we're already exceeding capacity now...it's just a matter of time before we do start having problems. Even now, we can't get the latest versions of the software loaded...

Thanks for being so understanding, though! I apprecaite it!

Ok, you will be gone ofline before I get your reply Bob, my question is, will the log in info all be saved so we can get in the new house, or will we all need to get a new key to the door?
