| stevebuk here is the larger picture and update stevebuk, Here is a bigger picture of that 3rd shot on my last post. I'm glad that you like it, but I thought it was a little dark. I did just realize that it looks like it was taken in black and white when it wasn't. It was just a deary day!! P1010049.jpg
We just passed day 3 without electricity. My husband was told today that we probably won't even get it next week, more than likely after the 1st of the year!! Ok, I have to admit I finally broke!! Had a little cry fest this afternoon, but now I'm better. We did get the generator wired to the meter (or something like that) so it is more tolerable! We can actually run the furnace, have some lights, tv, and computer. And then we will have to shut a lot of things off so we can start the pump for water. But it sure will be nice not to have to haul it home!! I have to look at the positives!!
Merry Christmas everyone!!

| Hey Cathy,
It sucks that it happens over the holidays, but look at it this way: you get to have a more spiritual Christmas this year.
Chin up, I'm sure many folks don't have the luxury of a generator and are in the same situation you are in. Your house seems intact from what you say, you did not mention food problems, you have water a plenty (worse comes to worse: there is the snow outside) your hubby is handy, you have heat, light, and nobody is hurt. You even have access to us!
For someone in a blackout zone, I'd say you're doing real fine dear lady: count your blessings.
May the spirit of Christmas bring you peace and contentment, and 2007 bring you all you need.
Cheers,
Marcel
PS: I see a lot of fine wood already felled, ready to be picked up for your use.

| Marsh I know exactly what you are going through- I went 21 days without electrity in a ice storm with a new baby in the house and my ex(wasn't my ex then) who is a trucker so we weren't use to THAT much togetherness . Needless to say that was a Christmas we will never forget -- it was warm Christmas Eve and Christmas Day we were on the National news from a ice storm that rocked our little world. I became divorced after that ... but all in all we did survive.
Hang in there girl at least you do have your generator and your puter-- we didn't have anything but a fireplace and some gas logs.. never used them again either

| Sorry to hear that you're likely to have no power in the near future, Cathy, but it does sound like you're pretty well prepared there.
Hope you have the best Christmas possible, anyhow.
I love that picture BTW - it really does look like a B and W picture. I would put that on my wall!
