Sounds like you need somewhere warm to work, Charlie! Didn't realise it got that cold in Wyoming this early in the year.

Just been looking at your page - you have some nice stuff there.

Default if you ask nicely...

maybe your wife will let you bring the saw in the house....
tell her that you will keep the house dusted and vacuumed...

I was wondering too. I face pretty much the same problem here, with the cold. I was able to find a spot in my basement for my saw and the only other tools I really need for my portrait work is my (similar to) Dremel tool that I use for my drill, and my bench sander for squaring off the sides if my cut didn't track perfectly straight. My shop is now a space between my hot water heater and water softener with my furnace at my back. It works and I stay comfortable.

Thank you all

Hopefully it wont be that bad a winter here so I can get at least a few days every few weeks scrolling and if not will try and work on some patterns .
would love to bring it inside ,but with how this place is the noise echoes throughout the house pretty bad and with my wife with her ( fibromialsia ) she sleeps during the day so its got to stay out on the porch . I need to get better insulated this year so I wont have to worry next year lol will probably be on here more though lol

Thank you

Charlie,

Sorry to hear about the missus' fibromyalgia. I have a sister-in-law with it, and it's no fun. She has been getting relief, though, with going through "allergy elimination". This is based on principles similar to accupuncture and is not mainstream, but I am open-minded about such things.

Re: the porch, my office and scrolling HQ are on a 12' X 20' converted porch with jalousie windows on three sides. It rests on a slab, so I put in a floor of 5/8" plywood on top of 1" furring strips with pink foam insulation panels between. a vapor barrier below and carpet on top. This made the hugest difference in comfort level, and I go around in socks. I also put batts over the ceiling and blew insulation into what walls there are. It is quite comfortable even without plastic over the windows, which I may do this year. I'd like to make polycarbonate storm windows but that would be rather expensive.

I realize that your weather is harsher than mine, but thought you might be interested in what worked for me.

Pete
