Carl's just told me that he's not going to bed until I make my 1000th post. So, in order to save his marriage, here's my address to the forum on this auspicious occasion:

Nighty night, Carl!

Logging onto this forum gives me a great buzz even after all these posts. You simply never know what amusement or enlightenment awaits you! I don't think I've ever encountered such special people on the internet as those who visit this forum. Highlights of my time here include spontaneous collections on behalf of less fortunate members, the recent Quilt project, Mentora, and these threads, which I find rather amusing:

Open House
Small Coat Rack

Isn't it striking how so many of my favorite events are in the here and now? We're in a golden age of scrolling; Bob and Shannon's deft influence is giving us the opportunity to develop our craft in ways that only access to the internet and rapid worldwide communications could have made possible. Although there are times when forum members may disagree strenuously, the ties that bind us together are stronger than the stresses that might drive us apart.

It's great to be in a place which is so tolerant, friendly, educational and witty. Thank you all for indulging me so far, and here's to the next 1000 posts .

Gill
