Default Eagle Lake Report...

What a great trip....
no problems getting there other than the 6 1/2 hour drive but it's all worth it
as your coming over that last mountain and you see that first view of the lake..

it takes your breath away....

as we were checking in, the site that we had reserved wasn't that great so the camp host suggested that we take this one...

it was one of the best sites...it's a corner and it goes from where I'm taking the picture to the 2 rows of trees past the camper...

This was our view...

Sunday was all about getting there and settling in....

Default wensday evening...

we decided that we would try our luck at an evening bite so we headed out to Eagles nest. Mrs.Trout wanted to try trolling some worms so I got her rigged and told her to have at it...It wasn't long before she hooked up with a nice 19 inched that went 2.13 lbs..

That fish trashed all the other lines so it took us a while to get thing straightened out and we had gone farther than we expected. Luckily for this couple we did because they were stranded on a jet ski for almost 4 hours.

Only at Eagle that we would rescue a jet ski....

Default Thursday...

we hit the water at 5:45. the plan was to troll night crawlers and to enjoy our last day of fishing.

Mrs.Trout hooked up with her biggest fish of the trip, a 20 incher that went 3 lbs.

I followed with a 21 incher that went close to 3 lbs..

not a bad way to end our trip...

Default some highlites of the trip...

in our 4 day's of fishing we hooked up with 24 fish, keeping 8 of the bigger ones..(2) 21 (1) 20 (?) 19 and lots of small ones..all caught on needlefish , red dogs and worms between 28 and 40 ft....

this is a menorail bench that I found 3 years ago. Fred and I took lots of walks...

this is the view from the bench and a great place to think of all the great times I had at Eagle Lake...

Monday afternoon a lady was crushed between their 5th wheel and truck and it didn't take long for the CHP and life flight to get there..

This is Ken and Phillis..

Tuesday morning they were lanching the same time we were and was having problems getting their motor started. come to find out they were camped 2 sites from us so I went over to see how they did. it sounded like they didn't do to good and by looking at their tackle box I know why so I offered them a couple new lures to try..
wensday morning they came back in with 2 limits of nice fish and big smiles on their faces..

to be continued....

Trout, where is Eagle lake? I spent two weeks at Diamond Lake and caught one trout. They have had 20 fish limit with 40 on hand since 15th of May as they are going to kill off all the fish in the lake to get rid of the Tra Chub that have taken over. The lake is kind of fished out and they don't want to kill the good one's. Plus the water is down about ten feet and that is part of the plan, to lower the water to make the kill easier.
