Default Fox Chapel's Open House

Are there any plans for a Friday night dinner at Fox Chapel's open house? If not, for those of you attending, is anyone interested in getting together for a Friday night dinner and some yucks?

Sounds good to me but I have a very slight problem. Seems I got my week-ends mixed up and THOUGHT I was going to Artisans Festival the 30 & 1, which is about 40 minutes from me and I can set up on Sat morning for the week-end BUT when I checked my calendar I realized I'm supposed to be in Ft. Belvoir that on the 29th to set up for my show the 30 & 1. Now hubby informed me that he has taken off that Friday to "help me set up" so maybe I can talk him into doing the whole set up so I can be up there on Friday? I had planned on staying at my brother's on Thurs night as he lives in Millersville which is about 15 minutes from there. But I'm sure if I tell hubby I really really want to go there to see the quilt, which I contributed to and don't you think I should see it in person?, and really really want to attend some of the seminars and just really really want to meet everyone, think I have a chance? Of course, the open house is 90 miles north of where I live and Ft. Belvoir is about 60 miles south of where I live, so it seems I have some traveling to do that week-end! It would be nice to find out who is going to be up there. So who's coming??

Cool, so I take it from your post Kevin, you'll be attending?

I look forward to meeting some of the folks from the forum as well as the personalities behind the Fox Chapel name.

Take care
Toni

Talking

Well, I said to hubby the other night "Dear sweet, wonderful husband, the best part of the last 34 years of my life, who I couldn't do without, I have a problem." and he said "No you don't" (without me even telling him what my problem was) and I said "Yes I do." He said "No you don't." So I said ok what problem don't I have? And the wonderful man said, you go to the open house and I'll set up Ft. Belvoir for you on Friday!!!!!!! So I'll be there, but just for one day!!! I'm so excited. I can't wait to meet everyone!! I'll be spending Thurs night at my brother's, so I'll be there as soon as the doors unlock. I do need to ask, will there be food to purchase for lunch? or a place to go near by? I am a diabetic and control it strickly by diet so unless you want me passing out and meeting the floor, I really do need something for lunch! And I might even hang around for dinner as long as I can be on the road by 9 and home by 10:30 as I'm leaving for my show at 6:30 the next morning. And as for Sushi - YUK!!!!! We should have name tags with our real name and screen name so we know who everyone is!! And yes, Will really is a nick name for me. Hubby gave it to me before we were married, go figure

Thumbs up I'll be there

I'll be there and Friday night dinner sounds good to me. Just tell me where and when.....but no raw fish . Stake's good, tho.

will8989- the name tags sounds good, as well.

Well...not all sushi is raw... <Grin>

Seriously, the hibachi place grills the food right in front of you (steak, chicken, shrimp) and grills the vegetables and rice there too...

And they have green tea ice cream and tempura (deep fried) cheesecake...

But really, there are a LOT of restaurants in the area. I know a lot of good ones, so we can decide when we all get together!

I just went to book my hotel room, I'm looking into camping sites now, hehehe. Any campground recommendations Bob or Shannon? Still planning on going at this point, just need a little lower cost.
Oh, sushi refers to a rice wrapped doo-hickey whereas sushimi refers to raw fish. I really like smoked salmon sushi.
