Default Free Sketchup 3-D CAD software

Hi all:

This may be old news to some, but I am passing it along.

Google has purchased a company that makes a 3-D CAD program. It is a free download for now.

http://sketchup.google.com/index.html

It may take an Internet connection faster than dialup to view the trainning video clips.

More useful to woodworkers beyond scrollers.

I have seen some good reviews of this product. (Darn, just how many years has it been since High School drafting? )

I've seen what this software can do for woodworkers ! There's talk on one general woodwork forum of a section being established just for Google SketchUp and SketchUp 5 (it's bigger brother). PM me if you want further details of that forum.

As Phil said, the scrollers who will find it most useful will be those who also dabble in joinery. It's very much a CAD program, not a pattern designer.
