Default web design question

I'm trying to learn more about web design and was wondering if anyone knew what it's called when you mouseover something a new box comes up with additional info in it. Like it does when you mouseover a topic here, it brings up the first part of the message.

Thanks
cooter

funny enough it is called mouseover.

Text popup is another name. This is not the same as popups, which we have all come to hate.

Here is a link for you to try.

Thanks... I'll check it out...

Like many things... I know what it's called but don't have a clue what it does...

You might want to also look into Cascading Style Sheets.
The mouseover would be the event that would trigger the object, and the CSS would be the object.

Regards,
Marcel
