| Not in the shit, but very very close ![]() Someone said that Wisdom comes with age, well I think I missed that lecture. The other day I was working with a client at the Sewerage ponds. It was a glorious day with the exception of the cold Goldfields Spring Winds. I was not going to risk my $100+ Akubra getting blown into one of the ponds so put the hat in ute. Now twenty years ago this wouldn't have been a problem, but as time marched forward my hair has marched back. I am now being head hunted for the job of a railway crossing lamp. One very red sunburnt head. Note to self, buy a cheap hat for days like this LOL

| Hey John - good to hear from you mate and to read one of your 'eloquent as usual' stories. Being the font of useless information that I am I read somewhere that if you slap some of that sewerage slime on your 'tete' that will ease the sting of the sunburn although in your case I'm inclined to think that this would be more a case of a rush of sh*t to the brain! One Mexican cure which I do have for sunburn, however, which does work every time, is to gently apply a liberal amount of the white of an egg over the affected area, leave if for a few mins and then gently wash it off with a damp cloth. I can attest to this home cure personally because when I first arrived to my Mexican home town no one told me just how strong the sun can burn when you are living at altitudes of around 8000 ft as we do. After a couple of days of exposing my lilly white 'limey' neck to the sun whilst walking around in the open air I burnt it red raw and boy did it sting. The factory nurse took pity on me and said she could give me something to reduce the sting and I was extremely surprised when instead of reaching to the shelf for some type of magical cream she sent a worker off to the factory kitchen to bring back an egg! Much to my amazement about 30 mins after applying the white the stinging disappeared. Believe me mate, this is straight up honest truth and definitely no yolk!!!! ![]() Keep spinning the yarns . We love em! PS - forgot to detail - the white of the egg should be raw - not cooked! - LOL!

Ho John mate, I know exactly what that feels like. My head grew through my hair some years ago and at least once a year I decide to either take a long walk or cut the lawn on a nice summers day and forget to don my hat. The result is something that resembles a red snooker ball on top of a pile of bread dough, ( my 6 pack vanished years ago). I always keep the after sun in the fridge for times like this. Slap it on and hear it sizzle. On a serious note though, as you folks down under know only too well the sun can be very dangerous if not respected. I reckon you would look good in a bandanna mate and they are very practical. Mick

You don't realise how much you scratch your head, until it hurts like hell when you do ![]() If I had enough hair I could have passed for my my younger 60's self, with brylcream considering the amount of aloe vera cream I've been plastering on my scalp. lol

I saw something somewhere where you can remove the yolk of an egg in a dish with a empty water bottle. Just hold it against the yolk and release the squeeze on the bottle and it sucks the yolk into the bottle. Just for the heck of it the next time the Bride cooked an egg I did it and it works great. Of course she asked how clean the bottle was. But she did like the idea.
