Sitka was a wolf hybrid that came from Alaska (Sitka). She lived with us for 19 great years. She loved and raised many younger dogs and she love children as well...always setting down and allowing kids to pet her. For the past 6 months, my wife would fix a special meal for her every day and we would hand feed her...she had lost most teeth on one side of her mouth, so you would feed her on one side and move the bowl around to the other side and catch what fell out, and then start all over. She would always lay in the kitchen so you would have to step over her....yes, we are still stepping over her.... She is over the rainbow playing with all her friends awaiting for us to join her one day....she will be missed.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Sitka sounds like she was quite the dog. Our DD-cat just passed a few weeks ago at 16. She'll give Sitka a good chase up in the rainbows. If you need or want somebody to talk to about this there's a good support chat at petloss.org (like our chat it requires Java so I can't get in, but my wife's been a regular) --Rob |
