I've been buying my wood lately from Itasca Wood Supply, but I don't know if I'm getting the best deal or not. There are so many out there - I'd love to hear why you choose to work with these people specifically....it'd help.

I love their wood--better than everywhere else I've gotten it. It's clear, smooth, no splits or cracks, easy to carve, good selection of woods other than bass (walnut, butternut especially) and the more you order, the cheaper the shipping. *
They come to the wood carving show in Missouri that I attend and I try to restock my wood stash while I'm there and don't have shipping. *All that and they are friendly and helpful--good people.

#7 | | Guest | Re: Carving wood Dale's wood is the best I have ever carved, I find his prices very competetive. Then shipping is high, but anytime you ship wood, you really pay for it.
I meet Dale in Montana to pick up my years supply of wood.
Last time, I tried to buy his Grandson; he is a real worker for such a little guy. | |

| Re: Carving wood I have to chime in here. Dale's wood is great. Thank you Nancy for telling me about Dale. I have had him do some roughouts for me too, and was most satisfied. He is a great guy to work with.

#9 | | Guest | Re: Carving wood Another great place for wood is:
Uncle Al's Wood Products
Oconto Falls, WI 54154
E-Mail; alveria@ez-net.com
I've used wood from both places and believe that they are the best.
Can't go wrong ordering from either place.
