Tony, here's the deal I have with my wife. I ask the same question you did for every occasion and get her exactly what she asks for every time. In almost 47 years of marriage she has save me a fortune since most of the time she says "nothing" and that's what she gets. However..............when she does ask for something, it's a doozy. A cruise (first class of course) a sapphire ring to fit the setting she inherited (you don't want to know the size), a new kitchen etc.......and that's what she gets.

I think we all go through the same thing. So I made her some nice nativity pieces and a couple of new ornaments. We get things for each other all year long anyway.
Happy Holidays don't ya just love em....

I have the same problem Tony. She never gives me a definite answer. I have a secret weapon though, my youngest daughter. She will be going with me this weekend to pick the wife's present. She always seems to know exactly what to get. She does all the driving too. Christmas rush traffic does my head in.

Same here, me and my wife has been married for 21 years, she never asks for anything. But since I have my new hobby I have been making her lots of things. She must like what I have been making for her because I have been telling her all along how much better my work would be with a Dewalt 788, :-) She informed me yesterday to stay home today and wait for the UPS truck. She ordered my saw from Grizzly for me.

Prael,
Never get her clothing or kitchen equipment no matter how much she says that is what she wants.

I was thinking of buying my wife some nice ceiling lights for Christmas. That will get me sent to the doghouse for a week or so and it will take a day or two to install the new lights out there so it should work out ok. Untill I get hungry, hehe.
Joking aside, after 3 decades we now discuss the dollar limit and buy our own presents. Might take the suprise out of the big day but there was just so many irons that I could buy her.
