Default Our county fair...

Mom, the boys and I entered our stuff in the fair this year (our first time ever putting anything in). That said, it appears that we are the only people in our county that scroll and enter the fair contests

VERY COOL!! Congrats! You should try to get involved in the 4H to help bring more youngsters into woodworking C.A. Vines Arkansas 4-H Center , that link may be able to connect you with a local 4H club. It really is very rewarding helping out the kids.

Thanks for the link Dale. Now that my saw situation has improved (Thanks again Bill!) and we have wanted to get involved in small farm animals (pigs, chickens, etc.) this would be a perfect tie in to get involved.

Casey is proud of the ribbons, but the rest of us realize that we were the only entries for these catagories.Would have been more fun to have some (any) competition though.

Congrats to the Cowans! That's awesome! Competition or not, those all look like ribbon winners, Jerry. Great job.

I know that Casey scrolls, but I didn't realize that it was such a family thing. That really cool. How did so many of you all get involved in it?

Hi Shawn! This being Arkansas, every time I used the saw at night, I would have to unplug the bug zapper. What else was the family to watch? LOL

Naw, power tools and boys go together and Mom started saying she wanted me to cut this and that and I said, no, you can cut them. It won't be long before you are buying another saw I bet!

I remember your first posts, and the first pics of your work, then your son's. You also deserve a blue ribbon for being a great dad to them for giving them something besides video games and tv.

G'day Jerry,
You all did good, Mum Dad Son and Dau..................

Next year, enter 1/2 doz pieces into each section. Then you'll have some competition

Actually after the Fair goers have seen your work, there just may be a few scroll saws being bought in the area and you may have some real competition next year.

Once again congratulations to the Family.
