Default what are you doing for the 4th of July?

I was just curious as to what everyone would be doing to celebrate our county's birthday. We are having a cookout and fireworks at our church. Also, I made a combination of Emmitt's "For You" cross and the name of Jesus which I painted red, white and blue to portray our flag. The small one is about six inches high, the larger about nine inches high. People just love them, and I love making them.
Have a great and safe 4th of July!!

Bubba

I'm going to get up and apply another coat of finish to my latest project, then go for a 40-mile bicycle ride, then come home and have a shower. After that, I think we'll go to the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, then back home for a nice BBQ and some fireworks on the tube.

Or maybe I'll just spend the day sleeping on the couch. Choices are always difficult.

Tonight we are going to watch the Philadelphia Phillies minor league team, the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs play at their brand new, one year old baseball park. The park is a mini-me of a major league park. It is just beautiful! ironpigsbaseball.com: PenTeleData Party Porch Rental We will be sitting up on the party porch right behind 1st base. It is going to be awesome!

AND... Fireworks after the game!!!

Doggie birthday . She'll be sixteen years old and she'll celebrate by going for a walk in the woods with her young puppy companion, plus a plate of liver for her tea.

I can remember sitting at the side of her mother as she was born. There were three pups so we gave them the litter names of Yankee, Doodle and Dandy in honour of the day. She was Doodle, the one we kept.

I do hope the weather holds out for the weekend. The last couple of weeks have been glorious over here!

I'm baby sitting my daughter-in-law's dogs. My son and family are going 300 miles so the grandsons can play in baseball tournaments. So they will be having fun and so will I. I had cateract removal surgery last week (he put in a new lens - my second eye.) Anyway - I'm staying out of the sawdust for a while - and I don't like it!! The surgery went well and I'm amazed at how much better my sight is now. So if I don't get too impatient . . .

G'day all my USA mates.
Have a great celebration. If you Drink don't drive (why would you want to drive anyhow, as the time could be better spent drinking LOL) and if you are driving keep an eye out for the other dopes on the roads. Stay Safe All.

BTW, because the 4th is a Saturday, do you blokes still get the Monday as a public Holiday ?????

I think it all depends. It seems like most businesses around here are treating Friday (tomorrow) as a holiday and closing/having shorter hours (not me...I have to work.... grumble, grumble).

After a week of rain/thunderstorms (which I guess is what killed my old computer), the weather is looking great for the weekend here in western NY. I'm looking forward to getting outdoors.

We invited my folks over for the 4th, so I'll have to find time to get that new burner installed into my grill to replace the old rusted one. I've been told I'm cooking chicken.
