Will make sawdust for part of the day and then off to a small gathering of some of my wife's colleagues for some ribs and who knows what else. John, most folks here are taking Friday as the holiday instead of Monday. Some may take both. With school out of session, I have no frame on days of the week, so I have a hard time trying to remember the Monday night chat and to get the trash to curb on Thursday. (Has absolutely nothing to do with age!) Happy Independence Day to those of us in the US and Happy Fourth of July to the rest of the world!

Golf tournament in the morning, cookout at noon and tournament prizes awarded.....then fireworks by the bay in the evening. Might get out in the afternoon and do some quality flag waving. Jan |

We'll be sitting in our booth at Art & the Vineyard in 90+ degree heat on our 22nd anniversary. HOpefully making some money while we're at it!

Having about 20 people over for a bbq. It finally stopped raining so it looks like I will be able to set up outside and enjoy the yard. As to holiday closings, the feds and most businesses are closed july 3-5 but our town is closed on monday the 6th but open on the 3rd. Go figure. Have a safe and happy 4th of July everyone. george

No real plans, except to rest, It been a very busy week for both Evelyn and I at our jobs. I may get out in the shop and work a project and who knows put a few steaks on the grill. I think will just play it by ear.

G'day Dan, I like your style mate. ![]() Thanks Jim and George, I was just wondering if because the holiday fell on a weekend, you'd miss out on your public holiday. Here in West Oz, if that happens, the holiday is almost always the Monday of the weekend. From memory we have 10 gazetted public holidays. Have fun on your days off, and or with your families

Since moving back to MO close to where I grew up, we are going to a Lion's Club cookout with live music and fireworks that is being held in the little town where I went to grade school 50+ yrs ago.

I'm cutting firemen's emblems for my son's friends most of the day. I posted the one I did for him a few weeks ago and gave it to him last week. It was a big hit with the firestation so now I'm doing a bunch of them. Glad to do it as they really earn my respect. The wife also has me helping getting ready for 2 or our grandkids that are coming to spend a couple of weeks. Their dad is in the Marines in Afghanistan so we'll, hopefully take their minds off that for a while. Makes me appreciate what the 4th of July really means. Bernie |
