Howdy all. Now that I am over the shock of things I can really start spreading the word.....I AM GOING TO BE A PAPA (grandpa). I found out yesterday that my daughter is to be married and that she is now with child. So as long as things go as planned I will be a 44 year old Grandfather.

Now the real fun starts though. I get to spoil a Grandchild (ohhh pay back is a bear ) I have got to get into the shop and build some furniture for that Grandbaby. I have some plans from WOOD magazine I think it is for a baby crib and changing station that grows into a bed and dresser. The first challenge is to find those plans, then the second challenge is to start building with out running myself any further into the poor house.

Well any way I am excited about the whole thing now that I am over the whole shock process.

I always heard payback was something else, Chris. Congrats on the new addition to the family!

Thanks all. Now I have thought about getting the grandbaby a drum set already. Of course that will need to wait until the child can at least sit up

Congratulations Chris. I hope you get many hours of "payback" time with the new grandbaby.

Congratulations Chris. Payback is extemely satisfying. I remember my first grand son. They had brought him home and I was carrying him. He started to scream and cry like all get out. I had a s%^&t eating grin on and my daughter came over saying what's the matter with you. I handed the baby over still smiling and said, it's not my problem...

Congratulations Chris,
Just had the same news from my daughter, Only mine will be my 4th grand child. Being a grandparent is the best thing no more. All the fun of being a dad without the sleepless nights - Lol. All the best to you and your family.

I became a grandfather on my 38th birthday in 1973. That was 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren ago. They are what keep me going.
