Didn't know where to post this, since not much is done with a scrollsaw. We were talking in chat last night, and I mentioned about making some in the past and it was requested that I post a picture etc. Not the best picture but does show how I cut it. I used a hand held jig saw. A round piece of plywood makes the seat, which is padded with foam and vynal covered. Put legs on the seat to make sit inside the bucket. I covered the edges with vynal to match the seat, and put a decal on the back. The vynal has come off the cut edges after about 6 years as you can see in the picture. Makes a cute chair for the little ones. I left the bail on the bucket for easy moving around. Fran |

What a neat idea. Bet these would be good items at a crafts show. With today's plastic paints, it would be easy to coordinate bucket with upholstery fabric and completing with a couple of stencils. Perhaps stenciled with a toddler's name.

| 'Senior' member - no way! | Thanks Fran - that's really neat and so simple and the handle is a great touch. I can see what I'll be doing this weekend - LOL!

I'm having a hard time visualizing it from your photo, but a few years ago my son made a bucket chair in 4H naturespace he called a ice fishin chair .It consisted of a plywood circle that fit inside the top, and one about an inch bigger than the top, some padding and a little piece of material. It was pretty ingenious idea I thought, and they carried their ice fishing supplies inside the bucket, and had a chair to sit on while freezing their butts off out on the lake!

Dale, The picture is more or less a side view. Cut down the sides then across about as high as a child's knee. Make the seat to be even with the cut across the bucket. The padding will bring it up from the cut just a little. I put three legs on the bottom of the seat to keep it from slidding into the bucket. Kinda like the ice fishing seat, except the seat fits down in the bucket. Fran |

So that's what I can do with all the buckets I have from the detergent I buy from Costco. Betty

Guess we will have to have a bucket challenge. lol Betty when you mentioned the detergent containers, I immediately thought of those large Tidy Cat buckets the kitty litter comes in. We have a few of those around here. They may make a doll chair. lol Fran |
