I had to post these pics tonight b/c they're so cute! I bought the "treat machine" at Target and have now taught my dog how to treat himself. I keep it up on the nightstand and only put it down when I decide to give him a treat. He has now learned to push down the bone handle w/ his paw and that a treat will come out.

And people think they are just dumb animals! Because she is deaf Chance knows a lot of sign language. And her treats are in a cookie jar on the kitchen counter that plays "who let the dogs out" when you open the lid. She has learned that I come when she noses the lid up.I hear the music and will give her a treat. Once she gets her treat it gets put on top of the fridge where she can not easilly reach it. In the morning I set it back on the counter.

It's funny how it seems all dogs know where and how to get the treats from the treat jar...we have 8 dogs..5 inside the fenced yard and 3 in my shop area and they all have there special way of hearing the jar open.. Nice Schanauzer Jerri

Cool beans for sure. I just love Schnauzers, and/or just love dogs in general.

Jerri: Those are cute pics and you need to think about a pattern to cut them out [0] I'm a dog lover and have had at least 1 around most of my life and have learned that they are very smart animals and just like us humans each one has their own perssonality Me and my wife never called our dog dogs they were our kids Erssel |

Jerri, Those are great pictures. Schnauzers are so adorable, we to have a mini schnauzer and also had a treat dispensing machine similar but right out of the box when we bought it, the thing did not work right so we had to send it back. But they are a very smart breed. You should try to make one out of a pattern. thanks for sharing. Bob |

| This is for Alan. Others are welcome to read. Tried to do it via PM but couldn't figure out how to attach the pic to a PM. Alan, we have a friend in NC who's sister is deaf. Born deaf. She (our friend) learned signing to communicate with her sister. We have met Gwen. Nice lady. This is an e-mail from her. BTW her dog Max, a dockel, was the boyfriend of our schnauzer Blanca who we recently lost. Anyway here is her e-mail and the pic. "Thought you might be interested in what my sister Gwen got for her birthday. Two puppies. They had lost both of their Australian Shepards recently. My brother-in-law went to the breeder where they got their last dog and she had these two. He was going to just buy the brown one but found out that the white one was deaf. The breeder said if he didn't take the dog they would have to have her put down as she needs a companion dog to grow up with. My brother-in-law who is as dog crazy as we are would not hear of that so now they have two puppies. Of course being deaf themselves has made this dog very special to them. They are teaching "Happy" sign language. The sign for happy is an easy sign for the dog to recognise. The other dog, the brown one, her name to "Two ". She is the spitting image of their old dog Abby...so she is Abby Two. Oh and by the way that is me that is holding them...Kirby and I went to NY for the weekend as a surprise for Gwen's 60th birthday. Ok that's all for now. E" Attachment 13649 Chase
