Default Another week, Good morning all

G'day to all,
This seems a little out of place considering recent news on the board.

I ain't a little ray of sunshine, but then again I can sometimes help spread a bit of cheer.

Last week we had some much needed rain, not a lot but enough.
As for technology, I reckon getting this done is a good achievement considering what we went through last week.

1st my A3 printer died, dead, kaput. 8 years service wasn't bad so can't complain.
The war office was doing an assignment so needed a printer, and we just happened to have a little Dell 3 in 1, brand new and still in the box. (Got it for an additional $35.00 when we bought the young bloke a new computer at Xmas.)
Any how plugged it in and loaded the software and away it went, a nice little machine.
Now we only had the ink cartridge that came with the machine and the missus was giving it a hammering so a few spares where in order. Down to the local Cartridge shop "No we don't have that model and we can't get them, although I can refill yours if you bring it down"
Get on the net, Cartridges available from Dell @ $35.00 each, Re manufactured available on ebay 2 for $25.00 delivered, Done, order 4.
The missus complaining, as the low ink warning is being displayed, back to Cartridge world and get the thing refilled, ($35.00) get home put it in and the bloody thing only prints in red.
Back to cartridge world, buy a $110.00 brother all in one and after haggling, get the $35.00 I paid for the refill knocked of the top. This printer has 4 cartridges and are available for $8.00 each. After about 2 hours I finally get it set up and networked. Great.

THEN, the missus comes home from school with a video camera that she has filmed a student doing maths on and needs it transferred to her lap top for this assignment.

To cut a looooooooooooooong story short, at about 1am I finally got that done, so computers and technology are not my favourite things at the moment.

Off to the Doc's this morning to have some nasties frozen of my arms, hands and legs.

Did I say, Have a great week all

Hey John don't you wish that you could convince these oh so smart computer thingies that you own a big friggin hammer?
Anyway back at you to have a good week. I am looking after a weiner dog for a week and am getting sore bending over to pet the little guy. Might have to epoxy some sticks to his legs and turn him into a real dog. lol.

Morning to ya too JohnB........could you translate that sentence in english.

Alan....hope the owners of that little doggie gets back soon. Would not like to see some stilts epoxied to the little soul. He/she has got it bad enough dealing with those mini-ponies he/she is living with right now.

Hope it goes well at the doc's JohnB, had a few of those myself, no biggie but bothersome. Sorry to hear of your technology woes as well. Speaking from the IT side of the world I feel your pain. You know everything in the technology world has a planned, that is correct, planned EOL. (End of Life). Not to dash your hopes or anything but it is as certain as taxes coming your way.

SNIP
G'day WD,
They are sun damage spots, and if not removed they can turn into melanomas.
The Doc uses Liquid nitrogen, and a template that he places over the spots and sores and then blasts them.

They do get bit painful, but after about a week they scab over and just fall off.

It was just a case of to much driving, with short sleeved shirts and shorts, and a bloody big hole in the Ozone layer

Hope the rest of the week goes better for you John. I understand your woes with the printer, only with me its this ----computer. I just had it rebuilt in march and it went south again last week. (talking about the home job, I've been using the one at work) So anyway I got this one re-built again but have to install everything again. A mountain of challenge for a guy who feels pretty good about himself if I get a computer turned on.
I'd just as soon go back to smoke signals.. Have a good one.

John .Have you ever considered refilling your ink cartridges yourself ? There are refill kits available and easy to use . Some have black ink only ,others have all the colours . You just have to find the right colour hole .

John, I too know about technology that doesn't do what it seems it should. My computer froze completely about a week ago for the first time in over a year, as I recall. I think the culprit was either a flaky IDE controller or a flaky cable. By now, though I have 62 windows open again (I don't think there is anything in windows I miss.)

Hopefully your electronics run perfectly without complaint long enough for you to pretty much forget about this disaster.
