| I got more power!! The electrician finished up today in my garage/shop and am I excited!! For 3 years now (since moving in) I could only run certain tools with dust collection if I used an extension cord to the outside power. I now have 9 20 amp circuits!! |

| Thomas, congrats on the new electric. soooo know what you mean, my shope is all hooked up now too. I am just wondering, do you need all 20 amps circuits. is that on you shope or you house?? I don't think I have a 20 amp in my shope. I use 15 for my table saw, and 15 for my band saw. and 10s for other things. I don't have a dust collecter, except a vacume, and I do have it on with some lights and my scrollsaw. but it doesnt' come on at the same time. I am just learning hear, and wont to be safe, so I was wondering why. 9 20 amps circuits. gosh, I hope I don't burn myself down. yikes. but congrats. I bet your happy now. I am happy for you. your friend Evie |

| i go with the 20 amp circuits. It lets you plug any power tool to any socket. I have 4 outlets hanging from the ceiling and do not have to think about what else is on that circuit.
Its like clamps the more and the bigger the better.

| Well Alan, that is what I thought as well. but my electriction, told me, you wont the circut breaker to click off if over loaded. before the fire. happens. so that maid sence to me. If my tool is using so much electric. up to it power, and is starting to over load. you wont the breaker to shut off. so not to start a fire somewhere else. I really don't understand it all much. but that made sence to me. so I read my derections on my tools and hook them up to the right circut. He said , remember you house is using so much curant, and if you are already at you limit. the circut will click off. and you don't burn something else down. gosh I don't know. this is just what I was told. HELP. I would love to understand more. for I wont a swamp cooler in my shope next year. and don't wont to burn my house down. does this make sence to anyone. thanks Evie |

| That was what my electrician recommended, he brought in a 220 line that was sitting in the ceiling of the basement unused. (There were actually 3 of them sitting there). He just punched through the wall and routed over and into the shop wall and into it's own circuit box. He then ran 2 outlets to each wall with each outlet having its own circuit. He also ran two up to the ceiling where i have one outlet and then the ability to run the other circuit somewhere else if I want. I located that one over the table saw area. I also had him run a separate circuit with a switch on it up to the top of the wall next to the back door so I can put in a motion sensor light to keep would be thieves away. There is also room in the box to add 220 if I find I have a need for it.
Also, most of my big tools that I would worry about over loading have their own fuse switch factory installed, the planer, table saw and the drum sander.
