Thanks Evie. I got alot of old stuff but most of it is for show. I pick up stuff that otheres don't want because of rust or mis-use-etc. and put it on my 'to do' list. That way it ages gracefully.
Knothead, the washboards are in the same catagory, just old stuff.

Here are a few pictures of my shop addition. I started this addition last fall. Still a on going process.

PS any one want to donate a shop stool. My home made one has gotten a little ragged.

Looks really good, again I have to ask "what's with the open wall space?" If you have extra please send it my way. I have no open anything pretty much anywhere.

Gee Pete, is the fan on the counter your way of keeping a clean work bench. Just turn it on at the end of the day and sawdust is gone! Sort of anyway.
Being serious, do you find the boards leaning against the wall warp. Most stores just stand them up and it would sure save space.

Alan.

Alan those boards have been there for about 2 months. I haven't notices any warping in them. Most of that is Red Cedar 1/4" to 1/2", a few 1/2" oak to long for my shelfs. I will be putting up more shelf as I finish the walls and the Ceiling. As you can see there is still a lot of work to be done. My son ask why I am using 1 x 4's and 1 x 6's on the walls. That is the scrap lumber that the Home Depot sells at 51 cents each. And I like the way it looks. The old part of my shop where the the big saws are I did in plywood. Looks kind of drab. So I thought what the heck. Most of that scrap wood is only good on one side. Not much good for any thing else.

I had noticed the board wall and thought it looked good. The outside of my shop has vinyl siding to match the house. The inside of the smaller roomis covered in anything I could find that was cheap. The walls get covered and its what goes out the front door that matters to me. My ceiling is covered with old white boards out of a school class room. 1/2" thick with insulation in the middle and the white metal sheet reflects the light down.
As I have said before I use second hand lateral file cabinets for all my storage needs. some are stacked along one wall and all the counters have them underneath. I also use wall units that are for cubical style offices. I have around 30 of these cabinets and most cost in the $5-10 range. Check your local auctions. If you get the better quality ones they will store a lot of tools and junk. I have one drawer that I store small pieces of scrap steel. It is full and slides in and out real easy.

Cheapskate.
