Doesn't look to me like you needed to adjust your settings. Rainbows are among the most difficult things to photograph and get the colors to show against the strange lighting that often follows a storm. As a long time photog, I'd say you did yourself "right good"!

BTW, that looks like a good sized pile of pen blanks tarped down in the backyard.

Maybe Carter will cut a puzzle. I know I would.
