Just give me anything by Sam Adams...Except the holiday brew with chocolate in it...chocolate and beer do not mix!

How many of you are old enough to remember, Old Frothingslosh, The Pale Stale Ale With The Foam on The Bottom?
1954 if I remember correctly.

It was Iron City, a Pittsburgh beer. Pretty good beer for an American beer.

Using Ir** Ci** and the term "pretty good" in the same thought about beer will make your tongue snap off the rollers. I had to blank out some of the letters, so I would not be guilty and suffer such a fate. I think that brew was bottled under the horse stalls.

Cut my teeth on PBR and Falstaff. Either of those really made you decide if you were cut out to be a beer drinker. You could just about shave with the foam on a Falstaff draft.

But, I do like a Red Stripe with a good medium rare piece of fire grilled beef. For mass produced, domestic swill, I have to go to the Rockies and start with the Banquet Beer.

Next??

Sorry Chase, was not even born yet!!

Bob, I have a friend that lives in England and when he comes over he brings me beer. I tried a chocolate beer that he brought over, it was totally gross. However he did bring me a six pack of Thomas Paine Ale and that had to be one of the finest beers I have ever had the pleasure of drinking! Of course he said I ruined it by chilling it but what does he know?!?!?

And for local brew, I'll concede that Polygamy Porter is not bad (Take some home to the wives!) and Provo Girl will do on a really hot day as well. But I to stay away from mass produced/marketed beer.

Beer, how do they make it so cheap?

I admire sampling the odd case or 2 of wheat beer (when I can get it). Ironicall I live in the middle of a wheat growing area and find it hard to purchase a wheat beer.

Have been noted to consume the odd Guiness as well, when with my Scottish mate on the coast. Guiness goes well with darts and pool / snooker.

But if it is beer, is cold, it's Good

After thousands of requests (actually it was one request from Evie) I can reveal what beer I drink.

Just switched a month or so ago from Stella Artois, a Belgium beer, to Spaten, a Munich beer. Both sold at the Class VI store.

I usually only drink light beer and Hahn is my choice.

Stout is good, but the best they stopped making, Big K (Kalgoorlie Stout) Guiness is the next best.
A portagaff (sp) 50/50 lemonade and stout hits the spot on a stinking hot day.

I get a bit of a giggle out of the movies that show beer with a good head on it. You'd be shot in Oz if you served a beer with a head

Jim, I'm in your cnr mate, if it's beer, it's gotta be cooooooooooold

BTW. Do you know why Queensland beer is called XXXX (4X)????

Because they can't spell beer

I remember Old Frothingslosh, as you might guess. Also Iron City.

I also remember many others I worked my way through on the way to the perfect beer, and now I can honestly say my homebrew wins. There are many good craft beers appearing on the scene, and it's those that I compare mine to, but bud, miller, can't go on I'm going to be ill.....yuk.

Sorry, John, I like a bit of froth. You have my permission to rofl.

Cheers.
