I'd be glad to send you some. Do you have the 734 model? Send me a PM with necessary info. Although I do have to say, it may be a couple of days before I can get to the PO since we are under Tropical Storm watch and the storm is predicted to come right over us.

So Andy sent me a couple of screws to get me up and running but unfortunately they were one size too small. Believe me, the effort was sincerely appreciated and it held off my frustration with DeWalt. But when they did not fit I logged into the DeWalt site to give them a piece of my mind. (I know, careful, not much to spare) Since DeWalt, Delta and Porter Cable all operate under the same parent company apparently I let them know that since I have a shop full of their tools I hoped that this was not going to be a sign of things to come. They wrote back told me that the screws were available individually and that they were sending me two to get me up and running. That was appreciated but why did they not tell me that the first time I called and said I needed two? When I ordered a set of 24 for $15.00??? They had no good answer for that. Oh well, at least I will have two in another week rather than waiting until the end of September.

I bought a 735 a few years ago. It came from the factory with the wrong pan head screws in the blade retainers!!!!! It put grooves in the wood. Called Dewalt and they told me to "You are probably taking too much off with each pass"! I almost crawled through the phone line to get at that guy! Told them no way that could be the problem and took it to the "local" service center..........thirty five miles away. They had the right screws but no time to fix it. The one rep wanted to charge me for the screws! I said I don't think so since it came with the wrong ones from the factory, he asked his "partner" and then gave me a full set. I took the screws and brought it back home and fixed it myself. Haven't had any problems since.
As for over torquing them I ground off the "L" of the allen wrench, chuck the "long" piece in my 18 volt drill set at 18 on the torque setting to loosen and tighten them, it seems to work fine.
See my signature.........

G'day Thomas, Glad you got the problem sorted, well sort of.

Dave, That's a great idea using your cordless drills clutch setting as a torque driver. Bloody brilliant.
It's one of those things that has me kicking my butt, saying why didn't I think of that LOL

Default Your right about Service Centers !!!

Barefoot : I"ve had a problem similar with a jointer planer from Sears months ago, tryed to take out the screws to replace the blades> guess what had to take a chisel and loosen them , never the less had to find some replacements. Sears was no help, so I found them at a industrial store. Had to buy a hundred in a box to get 5 , but it was worth it for under $5 . I tighten them up right this time, so I feel for you !!! Marshall
