yesserieeeee. that mulga came right from John B's own workshop (shed) in the land down under.

It's nice trying different kinds of wood from around the world.
That mulga is the hardest wood I have ever drilled and turned. . Something like drilling concrete .

And it is full of surprises. A piece that looks good on the outside of a pen blank can have cracks on the inside when getting it almost to the finished shape . It took four pen blanks to make that one pen . I tried filling the cracks but it didn't look good so I chucked them out and started over.
It was worth it though . The picture does not do it justice at all because there are some nice red steaks in the wood in that one.
