Default Very slow

Hi, anyone else having a problem with this site? I go on several other scrolling and woodworking forums, they seem to work fine but this is the second week in a row that this one has been very slow for me.

Not with just this specific site.

My problem is with my ISP and the DSL modem. I have had to reboot the modem a couple of times last few weeks to improve speed (logging off the Network first.) I have no proof, but I think it has something to do with a DNS buffer in the modem in my case. I use Earthlink.

I seem to have the same problem. I just got verizon dsl. and it is lots of $$$$ I thought it would be faster. but have been booted off a couple times. it is faster for sure. but when its slow, it is slow. and get kicked off many times. maybe there is to many virus things. don't know. its always a bummer to switch pc servers. it just seems to take forever to get it all right. don't know. your friend Evie

Mick, I agree with you, this site has been very slow for me over the last couple weeks. I thought it was my computer, but everything else works just fine. Like Everett said, I think it's time I cleaned my computer.

Hate to rain on the parade, but I'm on AT&T DSL, running Vista and having no appreciable speed issues. 'Course it could be the new computer. I was off the air for a couple of weeks when the old one just refused to recognize the network card.

The slowness I am experiencing comes from that shopzilla ad on the right edge. I cant slide down a page until that ad fully loads. I have noticed, if I click on a thread about bandsaw questions, that shopzilla ad automatically changes its offerings from scrollsaws, or books, to ads reguarding bandsaws and such. I guess thats the tradeoff for having such a great site provided for us by fox chapel, gotta pay for it somehow.

G'day All,
I was having problems with speed on the puter, (till I decided to snort it outside) SLAP SLAP, The devil made me do it.

Really, I noticed that the new version of AVG was causing all sorts of problems. I'd used AVG for more years than a care to remember and never had a problem until this latest version. I dumped it and now use Avira and everything is tonking along fine.
