I also switched from AVG to Avira and like it better than the latest version of AVG.

But that actually had nothing to do with how much slower this site is than any other one I visit.
It loads slower and always (I mean every single time) says done but with errors on page and while I typing this it has the yellow icon with the exclamation mark in it a at the bottom left corner and just to the right of that it say Error on page . I do not get that on a single other site anywhere on the internet .
If someone could tell me how to correct this I would appreciate it very much.
I took this up with my local service repair man and he said if every other site loads properly (and it does) then it is a problem in the software of this site that is not compatable with my computer.
So I just put up with it. Not much point in complaining because it does come up eventually . Sometimes I need to refresh my browser for it to show but it always shows even if I have to refresh it a couple times.
I have got to the point of copying my messages before either reviewing or sending because sometimes the site goes into page cannot be displayed and I would have to type it all over again.
Arn't computers fun ?

It is good to see I am not the only one to get Done but with errors on page. I usually fing the page loads proper within approximately 20 to 30 seconds, which for me is not too bad.
It is with suspense that I wait to see what is going on and to view the new pictures.
And with that I disappear back to the shed, or on bad days back to work.
:-) Somebody has to pay tax :-(

Sorry Dale, I use an advertisement blocking ad-on to my browsers on both my Windows box and my Linux box. Shopzilla cannot load on to my viewing of this web site. Or for that mater, most advertisements on every site I visit. Really speeds web page loading.

Oh, and I never get the "Done, but with errors on Page" either since I am blocking the ads that are causing the page loading errors.

Unless the site is having a major problem (is down) I have never had any issues at all. I have broadband not dial up or DSL.

Other than picking up a virus on my PC at work. (not because of this site FYI). I have not had any problems. (man i hate laptops the key board is to small and dont like the mouse) I am using one until mine gets out of the hospital. Had to reimage. You would think that the $$$$$$$$$ this company spends on firewall protection. They wouldn't get in. Just goes to show there are bad guys out there that are not dummies.

Sorry to here about the load times. If they continue please let me know off the board at webmaster@scrollsawer.com. Most of the time these are individual issues related to a specific connection. I can run you through some tests to help determine where the problem is being caused. I try to test the site from a few different locations for stuff like this but it is also nice to get feedback from our readers.

As for the error/warning some people are getting, this is a issue with the poll that we display on the left side of the site. We try to size the poll without taking up too much real estate, however Internet Explorer does not seem to report the poll's size correctly and instead gives an error. Firefox and most other browsers I've tested with don't seem to have the same problem. I just added a little bit of code which should stop it from throwing that error from now on (My apologies for anyone who encountered my debugging alert boxes this morning).

As for those with slow load times because of the ads on the right side, if not doing so already, you might want to try Firefox 3. You can get it at http://www.getfirefox.com. The javascript in it runs way faster then most other browsers, the ads themselves are displayed using javascript, so this theoretically has the ability to speed up the load times.

Claudio .
Thank you very much for this

When I logged on the error message was gone and the page came up fast just like every other site I visit.
I could hardly believe it after having that error message for so long.
I logged out and then back on several times to make sure the error message is gone.

I just couldn't figure out why it was localized to this one site .
Thanks again for checking that out and correcting the cause of it.

Wow...I just wanted to comment on how fast Firefox 3 is. I've been procrastinating about upgrading to 3 (I wanted to make sure all the bugs were worked out)...but this is FAST! If you haven't already upgraded...DO IT!!!!

Be careful if you rely on Firefox v2.x plug-ins; Firefox v3 may not support them!
