Default Connie's in town

G'day all,
Just thought you may be interested in a bit of local colour.

This week is the Diggers and Dealers conference in Kalgoorlie. It's an annual event with Miners, Mine managers, Exploration companies etc attending.

1700 people attended, so in a town and district with a population of 30,000 it's a great boost for Kal.

Anyhow, back to Connie.
A group chartered her to get to the conference and she has been flying over town doing circuits, both at nights and during the days. She really is a sight to see and hear.

When I went to pick my wife up on Sunday from the airport I took my Grandson, and we had close up look at her.

Some more info regarding Connie

What a nice plane. Bet it make less noise than the average corporate jet the same size.

John,

It reminds me as a kid flying on Eastern Airlines in their Constellation.

G'day Mike,
I never flew on one but do remember being in total awe of them as a kid.
Living on a farm, along way from the city, I was in awe of any plane and on those rare occasions when we made it to the Big Smoke these Big Constellations were a real bonus.

I still remember seeing my first jet fighter, and it going supersonic just over the ocean, now that was a noise.

My father and I used to go to at least one airshow every summer in New Jersey - especially the ones that featured the old WWII war-birds.
Sadly we haven't gone in several years due to the fact that we can't find the shows anymore.
