| Dale,
Being new to the forum, could you explain what happened? Just wondering what to watch for.

| Mike,
Spammers found the forum, joined, and posted "advertisements" to several threads. It wouldn't surprise me if following their links to their sites would attempt to infect one's computer with malware.
The posts were fairly obvious - they had spelling that looked more like line-noise and were completely off-topic sales pitches. It was exactly like the spam that gets sent to most email addresses, although with a decent spam filter you may never see it.

| it was just a new member that posted threads with no connection to scrollsawing, but with a couple links to click on. Instead of clicking the links, I researched them through the yahoo search, and they turned up everything from viagra, to computer software stuff, to a few other things, and nothing to do with a scrollsaw or wood at all. These scammers come in often, but Ive never seen one actually post a bunch in a matter of a couple minutes like that. Someone did quickly hit the right button though, the posts are all gone thankfully.

| Thanks to whoever took them off. I almost telephoned Marcel to ask him to take some action when I saw those early this afternoon. Some people just need to get a life, or a saw, whichever....
