Default Sewing machines

Hi . Reading John B's sewing machine post reminded me of an old sewing machine that I have . It has some water damage . I noticed it had a foot switch and was wondering if it could be used with my scroll saw . My only concern is that the wiring might be too light . Has any one used a sewing machine foot switch with any tool ? Cheers.

A sewing machine foot switch is variable and could harm your scroll saw motor or circuit board that controls the speed on the saw. Can't say for sure. Just a guess. If I see smoke rolling in from the north I will know you tried it.

G'day Roger,
I'm glad you asked that question. It is something I have often wondered about.

My first scrollsaw I actually made from a sewing machine

I think I found scrolling reasonably workable at first because of my former sewing days. Scrolling compares very much to sewing machine embroidery, which I used to do. My hubby cannot get along with scrolling, because it is too slow - he likes wood machines that 'rip' and 'roar'. Having said that he does carve, which I just cannot bear to do, it just takes so long!!!
