Yes, WoodDog, I am hoping he doesn't chain 'em down. Some might "accidentally" get into visitors pockets and will have to be replaced. I think the extras he got for me are just for that reason. Money seems to be no problem at all with him and he loves my work. Sure is nice to run across a customer like that every now and again. .

Got a finish on the desk pen holder and it is ready for delivery today.
I wanted to get a couple more coats on but time ran out . Extra coats would only have increased the gloss anyway and might have been too much.

My original picture in this thread was pretty bad so with some camera settings I was able to do a little better this time.

Hey Roger.

For me it is the bright side as well as for many other scrollers that have added turning to their hobbies. Especially the ones that go to craft sales because what sells at one sale will not sell at the next one and it takes a lot of different items to make for succesful sales. . Variety is the spice of life, .
Scrolling is wonderful and so is turning . They work so well together for serious crafters.

I have never made so much money in craft sales before as I am making now and I have doubled my average take on even the pre-Chistmas sales.

I delivered the desk pen holder today and we had previously talked about $29.00 sight unseen because at that point it was just an idea sketched on my pocket notepad .
He was very pleased (actually excited) with it and said it was well worth $35.00 so I accepted that and went merrily on my way. He was really pleased with the way the pens slipped in and out easily but had no sideways slop or binding.
Not too shabby for less than an hours work and a little piece off a hunk of wood that someone gave to me .

William,

You are right on with that first statement, Here in Texas, I sell 10 to 1 Jr. Gents (Twist off top) to Sierra's or Cigar Pens. Every market IS different. The secret to success is discovering what the local market is. I sell Jr. Gents for anywhere between $50 to $100 depending on the kit finish and wood.

Congrats on your sell, keep up the good work...
