| Headed to Europe! I'm leaving tomorrow morning to Europe! My daughter is going with the Michigan Ambassadors of Music - the group is made up of students from all over northern Michigan. They will be preforming chior and band concerts through Europe. I told her she couldn't visit Europe without me! and then I invited my mom to come along!! We will visit 7 countries in 16 days. Yes - a whirlwind tour, but I am so excited!!
Anyway - if anyone happens to be in London or Paris in the next week? and sees a crowd of Americans all wearing grey/blue jackets with red embroider, say HI!!
We will also be in Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Lichinstein (sp?), and Germany.

| I hope you have a great time. I'll help you in this by promising not to go to London while you're there ! Take lots of photographs; touristy snaps often inspire wonderful scroll saw patterns and projects.
Seriously, I hope you and your whole family enjoy yourselves immensely. It's the sort of tour I'd love to take one day. I live too far away from London for there to be any realistic prospect of an encounter, though.

| I have 3 photo chips that will hold around 5000 pictures - so I will be taking LOTS!! I won't bore you with all of them (unless you really want to see them... lol) but will try and get some posted.
Pajaro - how do you say "HI" in Italian??
Gill - I looked up where you lived when we first were planning the trip - I would have loved to have met you! But I do want to come back and visit England sometime - so maybe in the future? |

| "buongiorno", Good morning. Pronounced "bon-jer-no"
"buon pomeriggio", Good afternoon. Pronounced "bon pom-eriggo" not sure on this one.
"ciao", Hello or Hi. pronounced "Chow"
"buona notte", Good night. Pronounced "bon-no-ty"
"abbia divertimento", Have fun.
Any more? ![003[1]](http://www.scrollsawer.com/forum/images/smilies/003[1].gif)
PS: by the way. Pajaro is Spanish for Bird.... Italian is "Uccello" for bird. Pajaro makes a better name for for my site.

| There are several variations in London, with a few even being repeatable in polite company. The classic Cockney greeting is "Wotcher", although it doesn't seem to be used much nowadays. The last time I came across it was in a conversation between Harry Potter and Tonks.

| Thanks! I think I can handle most of those.
I should just keep my mouth shut over there though, and just smile and nod! Ok - that's not going to happen.

| Yes WD - we are going over all the rules! I am hoping that because we are traveling as a group, and we've been asked to wear the group jacket while in the airports, that we will get through smoothly. We all (parents and kids!) have been told over and over - we say "Yes sir" and "No sir" (or mam if need be) while in the airport. |
