Default A Few Pens This Afternoon

Playing around with making a few pens this afternoon to fill in missing stock from recent craft sales .

This one is a California eucalyptus modified slimline with a blood-wood center band.

I finally got around to making my first pine cone pen. The cone was not long enough for a two barrel pen so I made it into a one barrel Sierra.

This one is from a 48 year old Lilac bush .

A neighbor gave me a lilac log a few years ago that had 48 annual rings in it. Even though I sealed the ends real good it still split up pretty badly but I was able to get a bunch of pen blanks out of it.
Here is my first modified slimline pen from that small log of wood and I made a jarrah center band for it. .

I sold out of a bunch of pens and spin tops and key rings and perfume applicators and bottle stoppers and a bunch of bowls and vase's and Tea Lights and desk name signs in the last couple Saturday morning sales . We have had relatives from all across Canada visiting for the last couple weeks so I didn't get much shop time. Only one more trip to the airport to see the one remaining one off to Ontario next Monday so I am getting a little more shop time in now.

My little lathe will be just a'hummin' catching up on all of the fast moving craft sale items. .

William,

I was not a big fan of the slimline until I saw your pens..Very nice, especially the Lilac...very classy. That will not be in your possesion for long.
