Wood bolt 5/8 inch/puzzel.

Goodmorning, yesterday i stop in at my thrift store, there on shelf was a wooden bolt about 5/8 or so ,mounted at angle on plaque type base, i thought it was cool so i bought $1.59, and the nut turn off, now i can understand the bolt part, but i think it would be easy to make the nut part, but i looked on the net and my woodworking places to order the stuff , but i see no wood tap to make the nut, i'll check my local woodsmith store today, or is this a anthor trick woodworker use,

There are other ways, but this a tap is the quickest and easiest way.
