| New Gallery Topic I was reading through the other posts and came across one that gave me an idea. Could a new Topic Heading be posted under the Scroller Galleries for pictures of projects that we have done that have gone horribly wrong? In each picture a description could be put under it of how it went wrong and what could have been done to correct it. And comments from others on what could have been done as well. It could also be a spot for newer scrollers to post a picture of something that didn't go right and is looking for an answer to why it went wrong. Kind of like a training aid. Just a thought.

| The Bonehead thread section.... I don't think we need a new topic, we just need more people fessing up to their mistakes..
my biggest bonehead cut was on my excavator...
I almost cried when I realized what I did, I glued it back on and finished it and I fussed up to it in my work in progress thread...
now when I screw up, I just cut a new one...
my excavator ended up taking best of show at the fair....

| I was on Oxiconten medicine up util last fall and my wife finally sat me down and showed me all the mistakes I was making, and I did not even notice how bad it was. Stopped taking that crap and after 2 months I was back to normal ( or as close as I will ever get) but to sore to do anything. Now take just straight morphine and now I am back in my shop and not making too many screw ups per day.

| Man, Alan, that's some serious pain meds. I've got back problems and haven't felt like being in the shop for about 3 months. Finally got to the doctor today and got some pain meds and cut something today. Felt good to not feel pain and actually feel like doing something that I really enjoy.
Alan, if you don't mind me asking what's wrong that you have to take such heavy hitters? |

| Sparhawk, I have been rearended twice where I was in small vehicle. Then to make more fun, a women plowed into me head on. So my shoulder and neck are hooped.
So now I drive a 1 ton 4 door quadcab with an 8" box and duallies. The next time some #%*%#@ hits me I will just turn on the wipers to clear the mess and keep going. |

| Alan . What's the colour of your truck ? I'll keep an eye out for you next time I'm on the Island Highway . I don't want to get in your way . I hear where your coming from . I was thrown off a jetty by a graduating class when I was in the Navy as a diver . That was in 1974 and I have been dealing with it ever since , petty much a life altering experience . Have you ever tried Yoga and meditation ? Works for some people , but then again so does pot .I gave it all up and switched to pain killers . I find scrolling a great distraction . Watch your gut's with those meds. Like your work .
Cheers .Roger |

| I drive a Flame Red 1 ton 4 door dually, my wife drives a 1/2 ton 2 door, short box and Flame Red. My wife is a Coroner in Victoria and goes to too many crashes. The RCMP trafic analists that she works with rate the Dodge truck as one of the safest vehicles.

| What would be cool is if you click on a persons gallery then you have choices as to what types of things you want to see. So you click on intarsias, and you only see that persons intarsia stuff. You click on his "open class" lets say, and you see his pens, bowls, cabinets or whatever. And so on.

| Geez, where to start. I am no longer able to sit with pen and paper and plan things threw. I just have at it and see what happens. I built a new counter to do my finishing at. Its 6' by 40" that worked well but I always struggle with storing full size patterns etc. so I built 2 drawers under the counter, they are about 5 inches deep and reach all the way back to the wall. I used the 3 piece slides so they come all the way out. Great so far. Next I wired in 2-4 outlet electrical boxes and a cut off switch, also put all 4 foot switches on a platform so they were easy to reach. built an overhead rack to hold a Foredom machine, a Dremell tool and two Mastercraft units the same as the Dremell. All 4 have flex drives. Next I cut Slat Wall to tit under the window and installed plexi-glass shelves. And installed a 4" hose and funnel for dust control.
So its done.
This morning I go out and start carving on a danedeer with the Foredom. I cant reach the foot switch. Some idiot put to real nice drawers in the way. I have no room for my knees under the counter. So spent the day moving a 3 drawer lateral file cabinet out and putting in another desk that has two tops that are adjustable, and the front one is adjustable in angle so it can slope up. I had it in the house to use when hand sanding. Sanding in house is allowed when wife works in Victoria and only comes home once a month.
Anyway the day was spent moving every thing around. Still have to do the 4" hose but that will be easy. So now its meds and a strong drink and take Chance for a walk to see if we can find some cats.
Alan.
So fess up guys who else screwed up to day, you will notice I said guys. Women never make mistakes. lol. |
