| My #1 favorite is Woodsmith from August Home publishing. Cannot afford it anymore. It is all about jigs and fixtures for usually big furniture projects. I can no longer do such projects.
This site's magazine is #2.
#3- Only if I win a few dollars from the lottery will I pickup a copy of Fine Woodworking from Taunton Press. Way above my skill level, but now and then some really fine articles. Check out the back cover for the issue now on the news stands. Any marquetry or veneer workers will get a kick out of it. Techniques to Create Miniature Veneer and Parquetry

| For non-scrolling, I'm with Phil. Woodsmith is my favorite. I also subscribe to Wood and Fine Woodworking. Wood has a nice mix of projects for folks and is actually the magazine that got me started in scrolling.

| My two favorites are this magazine and the other scrollsaw magazine. I actually do, and plan to do many more, projects from both. In the general woodworking catagory, I really like Wood (simple but elegant plans and ideas), American Woodworker (more complicated but higher quality results) and Fine Woodworking (my ultimate ambition for quality and style). Woodsmith and Shopsmith have great projects and tips that often apply to scrolling. But as Graybeard Phil said, it's getting expensive to subscribe to all of them.

| I used to subscribe to wood and a few other of the above mentioned mags. until I settled down to scroll sawing . My favorite is Scroll Saw Wood Working and Crafts , I only wish there were more than 4 issues a year . I also like Creative Woodworking as the content is similar and more publications per year . It is sort of like an interm fix . I wonder if in the future with rising fuel and delivery costs that even this mag. will be too costly for the average scroller and eventually will only become available on the web .

| Favorites are this one and the Creative Woodworking.... My hubby subscribes to Woodsmith and Shop Notes. Beyond those I just read any I can read, usually at Barnes & Nobles (see Toolman, you are not alone). I often carry them around Lowes to decide if there is anything particular that I am interested in, sometimes even buy them. B&N is a much better place to browse, but not as convenient. |
