Default Wooden Teddy Bear

Just got an e-mail from Wooden Teddy Bear that they are no longer selling patterns from JZ, JSL, or RT. I know who JZ is. Who are the other two?

Anyone know why they are being dropped from WTB?

JSL is Joe Silveira and RT is Rick Thornberg. I have no idea why they aren't carrying their patterns anymore.

What's the situation with JZ at present? The other day I got a routine email from Steve Good pointing out his website. It struck me as a curious thing to do if JZ is still embroiled in legal wranglings.

Gill,
Apparently, it's been settled confidentially. Quoting from the artist's website:

"Recently, a settlement was reached with all four defendants. As in most Intellectual property cases that are settled before trial, the terms of the settlement are confidential. I can state that I am extremely pleased with the settlement."

I suspect JZ will fell more fall out from this due to a lack of integrity on his part

Thanks for the update, Kevin. Although JZs patterns aren't to my particular taste, I do accept he's a very talented pattern maker whose work gives lots of people pleasure. The fact that the matter has been settled at last is great news for the whole scrolling community.

Surely he was the defendant and the others were the plaintiffs!

Ah... I misread the post. So the artist was pursuing four scroll saw pattern designers, was he? I only knew about JZ. I'd be interested to know who the others are, but it's probably best not to identify them publicly on this forum.

Gill,
It was just one designer and the folks that carried his patterns.

Basically, its morals.Dont fret it Evie, theres been threads in the past regarding it.I am glad though that the other magazine has stopped using half of their print for covering his stuff, and have tossed in a few more other great designers again.
