Default Memorial Day

Memorial Day (U.S.) is more than just a day off work, so I would like to take a moment to remember, commend and thank all those who paid the ultimate price so I am able to sit here on my duff and FREELY write almost anything I want. God bless all those who gave their lives so we can all be free.

Same here.

It always bothered me when people say "happy memorial day" and the way we "celebrate" this day in the US seems wrong to me.

G'day all,
My thoughts and best wishes are with those who served, are serving and families that have lost a service man in any of the conflicts we have been involved in.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Lest We Forget.
