Default My little shop

After I retired from being a cop for 21 years - I knew that I needed to find something to do exciting. Woodworking was it - well at least its a slower pace. I built myself - the inside of the building anyhow - a 24 foot by 24 foot woodworking shop. In a past life I was assistant manager of a lumber yard for 21 years. Sold lumber but never worked with it - so I kind of know lumber. Summer time I have all sorts of things going on - winter I - well that is why I build the shop. Someplace to go and something to do. Everything was built by me - and the reason for the work benches looking like they do - is the fact that I wanted this to be a work shop and not an extension of my home - unfinished work benches and tables. All of the tools that you see in the shop were purchased in 2000 - when I purchased my home - just asked for a little more money on the loan. Then stored in their original container until 2005/2006 - December - when my shop was semi - finished. "The tools kept calling out - Saw dust". but they just had to wait. Here are some pictures of my humble little shop. Thanks for looking..

That's a nice looking shop, but I noticed one thing that's missing. SAWDUST!

Seriously, you have yourself a really great shop there.

LOL Ed - I am a neat freak. I will saw something and then clean up the sawdust - just to use the same saw 10 minutes later. I have to get over that and just let the sawdust sort of build up. (But just a little!)

Great looking shop Larry. Give it a little while and it will look like most everyone else's. First it starts with I'll do it in the morning, then next week and then in the spring.

Very, very nice shop. Where's the sawdust.

Is that a Rigid sander I see? Pls respond to my post on that sander.

Knothead - I hope so - I am getting tired of all the clean up - I hear sawdust is pretty nice to walk on.
Chase - yes that is a Ridgid oscillating edge belt/spindle sander. I did respond to your post.

Nice shop . Looks like you plan to do some serious wood work . I purchased my tools the same way and put them away for the day I got a nice shop . Had a house built . Wife loves it . No shop . Not entirely true . I have a 16'x20' addition on our mobile home , which I come alonged to the rear of our property over a 3 week period . It is full of all the tools I purchased to use . Now it's pull one out move another over . Nice to have lots of room . Looks like you'll have fun in your shop . I just need to get organized . Good luck . Roger

Wowser!!! That is awesome! My shop is merely a section of our calf barn walled off. I am very cluttered and try to stay organized but it sure is hard!! I have made a vow to never make anything bigger than me in it again. That is why I love scrolling so much! Congratulations on your new shop!
