| Up and At'em Monday is calling G'day all,
Hope you had a great week and that this one is going to be better.
Things have been pretty hectic in my little part of the world, but I wouldn't be dead for quids. |

| G'day Ian,
You make a bloke feel old!!!!!!!!
Feb 1966 was when decimal currency came out. I remember everyone wanting to get their hands on the new notes and the most common comment was "They don't look like real money".
Funny how some things just become so engrained in the language that they never change, like "A penny for your thoughts", "My two bobs worth", A couple of bob short of a quid" etc. |

| Thanks all,
Ian, I just thought of another couple. "Silly as a 2 bob watch"., " I wouldn't give you tuppence for it"
For the uneducated
A quid was roughly 2 dollars, A bob = 1 shilling = 10c, Tuppence = 2 pence = 2c. |

| G'day John,
Funny thing, I have a 1943 Ausie Shilling that my dad picked up somewhere when he was in the US Navy during WWII. That's an awfully large coin for 10c. It's almost the size of one of our quarters. It has a Ram's head on the front with some dude on the back and "Georgivs VI D:G.BR:OMN:REX:IND:IMP"
