| For the boids .. I'd seen little hanging birdhouses like these a few times, so I decided to have a go and this one kind of evolved on the lathe ....
I'm not entirely happy with some aspects of it - maybe some planning would have been good before starting ..
It's 9 3/4 inches high. Finial is coralwood, roof and base maple, main section cherry, perch is oak dowel and the post is koa. Finished with EE cream and shellawax.
Comments, critiques, suggestions for improvements welcome as always ...

| Ian;
That is a neat looking little birdhouse. I like the combinations of colors in the different woods and your turning skills look very good.
As most turners find out , there are never two turnings identical which makes for very interesting finished products. Sometimes we have a mental plan of how we want it to look but the wood itself can dictate the outcome when trying to show the best features of a particular piece.
So nice to have such a variety with turnings in the final pieces .
I personally don't think you need to change a thing with that one. If you get suggestions on what should be changed , then that's great too because it gives us all some ideas to remember and try in future turnings.
Keep up the great work.

| Very nice birdhouse Ian. Is it going to be just ornamental or are you going to use it for an actual birdhouse. I like it just the way it is, what's not to like about it?!
