In previous threads, there have been many discussions pertaining to this question. If you are unsure of the answer, I strongly recommend you get a copy of one of the newest publications by our friends at Fox Chapel Publishing. I have just received my copy of
"New Masters of Woodturning, Expanding the Boundaries of Wood Art" This is a terrific presentation of 31 world-class wood artists who start many woodworking projects with turning and then add creative, inspirational techniques that produce an amazing assortment of wooden art objects. You do not have to be a woodturner to appreciate this masterful book; (I am not) just have a love for wood, an appreciation for art, and a desire to raise your woodworking skills to a new level of craftsmanship and creativity. The folks at Fox Chapel deserve a big pat on the back for this truly inspiring woodworking book full of astonishing photographs. Superb job!
