Default Shop Visitor

Well last night I had a visit from Bonnie Klein to my shop. She was brought here by our wood club to give woodturning seminars. I took a 2 day seminar with her, it was worthwhile. But anyway she stopped by to see my shop and I am trying to get her converted over to scrollsaw as you can see.

The class focused on making boxes and use of the chatter tool. Very interesting class.

I have made many dozens of boxes on my lathe in various sizes and shapes.
They are excellent sellers at craft sales.
Here are some samples.
I am sold right out again so I must get busy and make a couple dozen more before the start of summer craft sales in town. There are never two the same and that is what most people like about them because we don't use or require patterns when turning.

Some are just scraps of wood laminated together that would otherwise be thrown out. It's like "turning" (pun intended) scraps into cash.

A former member of my woodworking club turned an urn for the ashes of one of his wife's cats. When he finished it, he was checking the fit of the top. He put it on and pushed it all the way closed and couldn't get it off. He ended up making a new one.

WOW . . . talk about a good seal
I genereally make the lids on my boxes (not urns) fit so that when you remove them you detect a slight suction.
